Course Overview

AST 1 Course

The IBT course is a ski and split-board touring and Avalanche Skills Training (AST) 1 course at a backcountry lodge with Indigenous outdoor enthusiasts. We not only want to educate our participants on avalanche safety but also our participants and our guide team on the history of the land on which we operate and recreate.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action on education calls for an elimination of educational and employment gaps between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Canadians.

  •  A 5-day, 5-night all-inclusive stay at Mustang Powder Lodge while learning avalanche safety.

    • AST 1 is the prerequisite for anyone looking to get into backcountry environments.
